After these physical switch inputs are configured, there are “endless” virtual switches created. A Virtual Switch communicates with a STAR-Controller just like a Bluetooth or CAN connected switch. There are 4 levels of development. The Software is OTA so taking delivery in Nov 2025 will allow you to progressively upgrade:
Available
1. ! Inputs are One to One linked to a virtual switch. In this application, the connected physical switch > virtual switch> activates one or more STAR controller channels. This configuration is done by selecting the STAR controller channel and then the nominated CAN connection and activating the physical switch to capture the switching relationship.CAN Cabling is required 2. ! Logic is applied to two or more physical wired circuits. In this application, the connected physical switch > virtual switch with logic at the Virtual switch. The logic is Boolean which means specific characters are used for AND, NAND, OR and NOR.> activates one or more STAR controller channels. The Virtual switch output then continues as per 1. Above. 3. ! Advanced Logic is applied by linking a STAR controller output with a physical switch input as two or more inputs to the logic in the virtual switch. A practical example is to turn off the water pump when the vehicle is started. For security of applications only do this with CAN connected controllers and CAN connected Star-Switch Custom. Logic blocks can be cascaded. 4. ! Advanced Logic with Wireless will be introduced in Q4 2025. This will be the same as 3 above but all wireless. We are waiting for the Victron Wireless integration first before implementing
