Solid State Explained

48V or 12V Same Size Case

1) Higher Safety: The electrolyte in traditional lithium batteries creates safety hazards if over charging or electrical abuse leading to thermal runaway. Solid-state batteries have higher safety without this electroyte mass . 2) Higher Cycle Life: Because solid-state batteries use solid electrolytes, the cycle life is doubled. A minimum of 10,000 cycles at 80% depth of discharge is expected. 3) High Energy Density: Solid-state batteries do not use lithium-intercalated graphite anodes, but directly use metal lithium as the anode, which reduces the amount of anode materials and increase the energy density of the entire battery. 5) 30% Lower Thermal Rise at Full Load Solid State does not generate as much heat as traditional lithium because of the lack of electrolyte. As a result the temperature rise at full load is 30% less and does not need liquid cooling. Cell Temp Min Max Visible in Bluetooth. Also visible over CAN to selected systems: Victron Compliant. The separator and electrolyte in the traditional liquid lithium battery accounts for nearly 25% of the entire battery mass. With the solid electrolyte, the distance between the positive and negative electrodes can be shortened to ten micrometers. The result is smaller battery dimensions and better quality control. 4) Smaller Size:

Plug n Play Charging from mother ships 12V or 24V circuits that is low voltage and perfectly safe and can be done while in the water. In the unlikely event the mother ship house battery is low, simply plug in and the 48V will charge to either 12V or 24V house battery bank. Safe & Simple Cross Charging 12V or 24V to 48V and Back:

Charge from a secondary “Bidirectional Motor Generator” - looks like an alternator but it isnt! Add second bracket to engine. 90% Efficient. Want Fast 10kW DC Charging at 48V?

Reducing Installation Cost Lighting Switch Wiring 1

Wireless switches in 4 gang format. Double press can either change colour or change lighting format ie floor lighting and or ceiling lighting: one press is floor only, double press is ceiling only, third press is both.

Up to 6 wireless switches can control one device including dimming and RGBW.

If MATTER installed for client, then Nest display switches lighting at bedside table.

Replenishment of Lithium and Power Conversion System The most efficient voltage for lithium storage and the lowest cost for OEM’s is 48V. The cabling size, lugs and terminations for the “Energy Storage” and Inverter is so much smaller. 48V systems operate at 1/4 of the current of 12V and half 24V so power conversion equipment and batteries run cooler. 48V is practical to run for bow thrusters and anchor windlass. Installation wiring is a fraction of the cost to the bow. Safiery’s 12-48-12 (or 24V) DC DC are 96% efficent, completely bi-directional, hails from high grade automotive and available at 1500W or 3000W capacity. They charge the 48V system from either 12V or 24V alternators. For high charging power the 48V Bidirectional Motor Generator also comes from the automotive hybrid stable and will replenish at up to 10kW. 12V is still used for all the switch control, though STAR-Light and STAR-Rover can operate at 24V. Victron 48V Inverter chargers are priced at 65% below the 12V equivalent capacity. Victron Solar controllers in 48V can be 80% lower in cost than a 12V power equivalent. Place STAR-Light in cabin with simple power distribution from DC breaker in main box and distribute power in the Cabin from the STAR-Light controller. It is advanced Fuseless so no fuses. Control can be all wireless but if wired preferred then an 8 button keypad can be installed with the wired CAN section only between the STAR-Light and the keypad. This STAR-Light can still be controlled wirelessly from other areas of boat. STAR-Power can be used as alternative. STAR-Power has back up control buttons on unit for redundancy. If MATTER installed for client, then Nest display switches lighting at bedside table.
