SMART SWITCHING USING ADDITIONAL BUTTONS

Using other buttons

1. Adding an additional switch button to duplicate control just one of the 4 circuits on a smart IO board is easy.

2. Button output MUST be:

• Momentary for single touch • Held closed for continuous touch (for dimming) • They MUST not be latched switches 3. Switch signal from switch button to the Smart IO is on the negative wire . So the addition button will have: • One wire going to Smart IO breaking into the RJ45 connector. This diagram is shown below. • One wire going to ground (12V -ve) on RV. • There will be NO 12V +ve. • Very low voltage, no need for fusing. 4. Switch feedback LED that lights up when this additional button is pressed. Wire from switch button LED to the Smart IO. When activated, the signal is 12V Positive : • One wire going to Smart IO breaking into the RJ45 connector. This diagram is shown below. • One wire going to 12V -ve on RV. • It is very low current so fusing is optional.
