STAR-Switch SP8 (Rubber Keypad) The SP8 is designed for outdoor and wet locations where water intrusion is a concern. CAN Wiring Both keypads connect using standard NMEA 2000 cables: 1. Run CAN cable from your STAR Controller to the switch location. 2. T-connector if adding to an existing CAN run, or direct connection if end of line. 3. Terminator on the last device if this is the end of the network. 4. Power on —the switch illuminates and begins responding immediately. Cable Length: CAN bus supports up to 100 metres total network length. Individual drops to keypads should be under 6 metres from the backbone.
Button Configuration Default behaviour is channel-to-button mapping. To customise: 1. Open the Safiery app and connect to your STAR Controller. 2. Navigate to Switches → select the keypad. 3. Tap any button to configure: – Primary channel – Secondary channel (double-press) – Behaviour (toggle, momentary, dimming) – Mode assignment
